For Media distributing international rights to Uefa-Conmebol Club Challenge
International broadcast rights to the Uefa-Conmebol Club Challenge, a one-off match between the winners of the Uefa Europa League and the Copa Sudamericana, are being distributed by the For Media Sports consultancy.
The match between Sevilla of Spain and Independiente del Valle of Ecuador takes place at 10pm (CET) tomorrow at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville.
For Media Sports, which has offices in Dubai and London, said that its distribution remit excludes the rights in Spain and Ecuador. The agreement for the third-party rights was struck with Sevilla, For Media Sports said.
Uefa and Conmebol, the governing bodies of Europe and South America, respectively, are strengthening ties with the recent launch of the Club Challenge.
In December 2021, the two confederations renewed and extended their Momorandum of Understanding and announced that London would host a new ‘Finalissima’ event between the reigning champions of the European Championship and Copa América. Argentina won the inaugural match after beating Italy 3-0 at Wembley Stadium in June 2022.
The first edition of the Club Challenge is named in honour of former Sevilla player Antonio Puerta, who died in 2007 aged 22 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
